THE ANNUAL ELECTION OF OFFICERS FOR HARDING SAN JUAN LODGE WILL BE HELD AT THE NOVEMBER STATED MEETING

From the EastGreetings, October was another busy month for your officers. I would like to welcome Brother Richard Louma to the Craft, as our newest Entered Apprentice. I would also like to congratulate Brother Shane Fackrell for being raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason. Looks like November will be busy also. We have a Second Degree scheduled for Brother Bruce Gavin on Nov. 11th and a Third Degree for Brother Morgan Zumaeta on Nov. 25th. Please plan on joining us, remember doors close promptly at 7 p.m. If you missed our Fall Festival you missed a fantastic meal. We had ribs and chicken brisket and sausages. Yum was it ever so good. Please join us next year or you will miss out again. Brethren I need your help. Our Stated Meeting dinners are fund raisers for the different groups that prepare them. Attendance at our October dinner was so poor the Ben Ali Patrol only made $63.00. In order for us to have groups come and cook meals for us we need your support for them to be successful. Please won’t you join us for these dinners. If your participation continues to wane we may not have any groups come to cook our meals. I am asking for your help in determining what we need to do to improve your attendance. Please call me or email me with your suggestions BEFORE our groups stop cooking for us. Help me to improve our meals with your input. Also I need someone that can help out with the Lodge website. It requires just a couple hours a month to maintain it with updates of Lodge functions. Loading pictures and answering inquiries. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE won’t someone volunteer to help maintain our Lodge website? Frozen Turkeys Needed! November is upon us and our biggest project of the year is here. Our food and turkey drive for the Sunrise Food Locker. Help me make this another wonderful successful event. Your food and frozen turkey donations are desperately needed to help feed those in our Citrus Heights neighborhood. All donations stay within our area and are so badly needed. Please help the Lodge with your donation. We will take food, checks, cash or whatever works for you. You can call me or our Junior or Senior Wardens. WE WILL COME PICK UP YOUR DONATION if you cannot get it to the Lodge. We will be looking to get the frozen turkeys anywhere from Nov 20th till Nov 27th. Won’t you please help us out. Hall Board
It is now approaching the fall months and a good time to do some landscaping. We will have several work parties before the end of the year to plant some new shrubbery, pull weeds, trim trees, distribute some ground cover to hold down weeds and maintain moisture for existing plants.
At the November Stated Meeting, the membership will be voting to fill three Director positions on the Board. The Board will hold their Annual Business Meeting on Wednesday November 6, 2013. At the Annual Meeting the Board will review the accomplishments of the year, decide on any further Capital projects that can be completed before the end of the year, determine if there are any excess funds to transfer to the Lodge for Investment and I will be appointing a nominating committee to present a panel of officers for election at the first meeting in January.
The Board President elected to manage the corporation in 2014 will be looking for a new Building Maintenance Manager. The Manager does not have to be a Board Member, just someone who has the willingness, time and ability to manage the Custodial and Yard Maintenance contract, repair or see that needed repairs are made, purchase and keep in stock janitorial items and a few other items that are listed in Job Description for the Manager. Anyone interested can contact Jim Poindexter for further details.
