From the EastOnce more we hear the feet of the Easter bunny steadily approaching. Spring is finally here! Clean out those closets and enjoy the delightful weather and fresh flowers everywhere! March was a very busy month. We have had several initiations into the fraternity, and one raising to Master Mason. It was a great month! We also have few more applications to still investigate. In the middle of all our degree conferrals, we hosted a wonderful Sweethearts Luncheon. This month we celebrate our public schools at the lodge. Please join your fellow brethren and me at the April stated meeting. We have some students from the local schools, that will present their essays to the lodge. Let’s show our support and fill the sidelines with as many as we can. Your officers are currently practicing to advance to the next station while getting certified for a mid-year election in May. Wor. John Scofield will be resigning at the April stated meeting to pursue a full-time officers coach position in the lodge. This leaves a gap for advancement. All the officers, except me, will advance one station to the east. With the advancement of the officers, we are looking for brothers that have the commitment and drive to pursue the Oriental Chair. This is a great honor to go where all Past Masters have gone before. If you feel you have what it takes to commit to the officers line, then reach out to me and let it be known. Please note the following: The month of May will be our Youth Observance Month. Show your support by attending our May Stated Meeting and any youth events. Our 5th Annual Lodge Picnic & BBQ is fast approaching. It will be at the lodge on June 20th. That’s it for now! So until next time I want to wish you all the best and a Happy Easter holiday and Passover and if you need anything, want to get involved, or just want to enjoy some fellowship please feel free to contact me anytime. Fraternally, Paul Cary, Master From the WestI would like to thank everyone for your generous donations for the Sunrise Food Locker. We hope to have in place a nice sign designating our food drop off area. Many people have asked me where do I bring my donation. So I think we have solved that mystery. If you would like to make a cash donation instead of dropping off food please contact me and I can assist you with that. My number is here in the Trestleboard. The food locker is a 501C (3) charitable institution. So if you are looking for something to donate to with a write off here is your opportunity. Fraternally, John Scofield, P.M., Sr. Warden We extend our Best Wishes for every happiness on your birthday and every day throughout the coming year. Masonic AnniversairesCongratulations to all the Brethren that were raised in the month of April! BUY A MITT AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE Once again, Northern California lodges are teaming up with the Giants Community Fund to provide baseball mitts for more than 20,000 at-risk youth in the Junior Giants program. Teams of lodges in six areas are competing to give the most mitts. Support your team at: Masons4Mitts.org Fraternally, Jim Watt, PM | From the SouthBrethren, Ladies, Family and Friends: Thank you all for such a fabulous turnout at the March stated meeting dinner. Rich Gardener of Granite Rock Grill continues to do an amazing job on the catering! Thank you to the Job’s Daughters and Carol Burns for providing the scrumptious dessert and cleaning up after our meal. I’d also like to thank my wife, Jennifer, for helping me out with collecting the money and making sure all my duties were handled in my absence. I also want to let everyone know we will be having the Masonic Family Picnic again this year and it is sure to be a fun time. Please mark your calendars for Saturday, June 20th at 11 a.m. More details to follow next month…start thinking about which side dish you’d like to share! For your convenience, the Lodge website has been updated with all the stated meeting dinners for 2015 so that you can register at any time…for one dinner or for all the dinners! Remember, reservations are required! I look forward to seeing you at dinner and in Lodge this month! Fraternally, Chad Riffe, Junior Warden DINNER RESERVATIONS |
