July-August 2014 Trestleboard

7/1/2014

Picture

From the East

Brethren, June was an outstanding month. Anthony
Hodges and Michael Nichols (Mike was scheduled at print time) were raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason. John Williamson and Maxford Harry received their 2nd Degree. Also, we initiated three new Masons in a triple First degree for Julius Cadorna, Trevor Runnels-Spieth and Dustin Smith. Congratulations!

Also, the Jobs Daughters had a Wonderful Installation. Sydney Humphries was very gracious as outgoing honored Queen. Congratulations Honored Queen Veronica Allen.

During the “Dark” months of July and August your
officers will be in rehearsal (practice each Monday) to
qualify and begin working in next year’s (Advanced) Stations. Degree conferrals will resume in September!

Watch this Trestleboard for events and news about
you and your Lodge!

Fraternally, Tom Angello, Master

From the West

I would like to praise our candidates, Candidates
Coaches, Officers, Officers Coaches, Breakfast Crew and Hall Board for the great work that has been done as we have labored hard putting on degrees, and initiating new brethren into the fraternity. Our lodge continues to flourish and confer degrees at an excellent pace.

The months of July and August bring us a time of BBQ's and pool parties. I hope that all of you enjoy your summer. Here at the lodge your officers will be working hard practicing in advance stations in preparation for year-end qualifications. You may have heard this time of the year referred to as "going dark". Going “Dark” means to not have any degrees or dinners during this time. We still continue to have our Breakfasts and Stated Meetings.

Over the next few months we have several brothers studying to give their proficiencies. So be prepared to come join us after summer for degree conferrals. As always we appreciate your attendance and your continued support at all of our events.

Looking forward, the 165th Annual Communication of
The Grand Lodge of California is October 10-12 at the
Masonic Memorial Temple on Nob Hill in San Francisico. It is never too early to start planning. If you can, we highly recommend you attend. Our beloved Masonic Auditorium has been undergoing renovation and redesign to re-open in September as “The Masonic”.

Have a great summer!

Fraternally, Paul Cary, Senior Warden

Hall Board

The Hall Board will be meeting in July mainly to pay bills etc. Other than the back door replacement project and parking lot lighting in progress, there is nothing else going on. The back door replacement should be completed this month, the parking lot lights are still being studied. We will be discussing some ideas about a patio cover after hearing a report from Director Cary but it appears the majority of Directors are not interested in spending a lot of money considering the little use it gets. One thing was brought to my attention, we had three steamers at one time and now there is only one. If they were borrowed I would appreciate they be returned.

Fraternally, Don Bagley, P.M., President

From the South

Brethren, Ladies, Family & Friends:

We had a wonderful turn out once again for the June
Stated Meeting and Dinner. A big thanks to Pat Gore and the lodge for having a delicious dinner. Thank you all for your continued support.

The Masonic Family BBQ Potluck Picnic is Saturday July 19th. We need everyone to check in on what they would like to bring to the picnic. The lodge is purchasing the Hot Dogs and Hamburgers.

Fraternally, Chuck Oldes, Junior Warden

What's for Dinner?

Sorry, no Stated Meeting dinners in July and August.
