July - August 2013 Trestleboard

7/1/2013

From the East

Congratulations to Brother Morgan Zumaeta on being passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on June 10th.

Congratulations to Brother Mark Allen on being raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on June 24th.

Congratulations to Brother Maury Hicks on being
elected to membership by affiliation.

An awesome time was had by all that attended our 3rd Annual Lodge Family Picnic. The BBQ chicken was so good. And how about all those side dishes. Yummy. I certainly hope everyone had as great a time as I did.

Our Lodge Breakfasts will continue thru the summer. Don’t forget the 4th Saturday and join us for good food and fellowship.

The Masons 4 Mitts program will also continue thru the summer. Contact James Watt, P.M. (916) 612-1401 to participate. See his notice on back page.

Your officers will be busy thru the summer learning their work for qualifications for next year. Please feel free to drop by on any Monday at 7 p.m. and watch them do their work.

Brother Howard White will receive his Golden
Veterans Award 50-Year Pin on July 10th. Following a Buffet Reception at 6:00 p.m., the presentation will be made by Tony Wordlow, P.G.M. Family and friends are welcome. The buffet is catered by Mollie Romero. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Please RSVP by July 5th. See “From the South” Jr. Warden message. Stated Meeting to follow.

Don’t forget our Ice Cream Social on August 10th. What a way to beat a hot summer day.

Watch this Trestleboard for events and news about you and your Lodge!

Fraternally, John Scofield, Master

From the West

Thank you for your donations to the food closet. Every little bit helps and is truly appreciated. We are currently accepting auction donations for the crab feed in January. This is an important fund raiser for our lodge.

Fraternally, Tom Angello, Senior Warden

We had a wonderful turn out once again for the June Stated Meeting and Dinner. A big thanks to Dick Lewis and the lodge for having a delicious dinner. Thank you all for your continued support. Masons - Baseball - Kids - The Perfect Combination

Do you remember your first baseball glove?

Once again, Northern California lodges are teaming up with the Giants Community Fund to provide baseball mitts for more than 20,000 at-risk youth in the Junior Giants program. With 45% of Junior Giants participants not owning a baseball glove, California Masons can make a difference!

Teams of lodges in six areas are competing to give the
most mitts. Support your team at Masons4Mitts.org!

Hall Board

Greetings from the Hall Board. We have not made any progress on Capital Improvement Projects so far this year. However, we do have three painting bids to consider at our next meeting in July. Of course this is a maintenance project and is important in keeping the building in good repair. This brings to mind that there has been considerable damage in the building that has gone unreported. We know things will happen and no one will be required to pay for damage, but it sure helps to stay on top of needed repair when the damage is reported when it happens. The latest damage that requires quit a bit of work to replace is the damage that was done to the control panel on the vent over the stove in the kitchen. To find out how the damage occurred sometimes helps to prevent it from happening again. Your help in this matter is badly needed.

The members of the Hall Board want to wish everyone a Happy and safe Summer Vacation.

Fraternally, Don Bagley, P.M., President
