From the East

Brethren, our Sweetheart Dinner in honor of our Belles was a huge success. Thanks to Junior Warden Chuck Oldes and all who attended.

Thank you Job’s Daughters Bethel 292 for the spaghetti dinner at our stated meeting. Also it has been great to see some new Entered Apprentices and newly affiliated members at the Lodge.

Our line officers have been working hard and getting
ready to pass our new Entered Apprentices to the degree of Fellow Craft. Thank you also to everyone who has been coming to our "Breakfast at the Lodge". It is a great way to start the weekend and fellowship with our Brethren. Thanks to Wor. John Scofield for taking me to the Northern California Past Masters Association meeting at Woodland Lodge. I had a great time and the dinner was very good.

Senior Warden Paul Cary has done a stand up job with our web site. Thanks Paul.

Brethren, our Lodge is moving forward and we are
fortunate to belong to such a great fraternity.

Watch this Trestleboard for events and news about
you and your Lodge!

Fraternally, Tom Angello, Master

From the West

Greetings Brethren, Ladies, Family & Friends!

We elected J.W. to receive the degrees of masonry last month, Mr. W. will receive the first degree in March. Several Brothers have been working extremely hard to take their proficiencies. Bro. S.R. is ready to give his 1st degree proficiency, and Bro. B.G. has given his 2nd degree proficiency. Bro. S.F. is ready to give his 3rd degree proficiency.

With so many new brothers coming into the lodge and
so many progressing through the degrees of masonry; it is important that we continue to support them with our attendance at the degree conferrals.

Masonic Participation is important; There are a variety of ways to serve and to benefit, a period of duty as a Steward, waiting on the brothers who have previously waited on you, learning to participate as a sideliner in the degree work until you are comfortable to help in the work; supporting the Lodge simply by regular attendance at Stated and Special Meetings, calling on a brother who is ill, attending a brothers funeral; bringing wives, families and friends to social functions, taking up the study of Masonic research, and, of most special importance, partaking of all
the good fellowship which is available to you through our Lodge.

If you would like to learn how to participate, or help
in anyway; please contact one of the officers and let them know you are interested.

Please check out our great new website:
www.hardingsanjuan.com

We have many features on the website, from buying
your next stated meeting dinner to watching videos and more.

Our food closet is always in need of additional donations. Please remember to bring items every time you visit the lodge. This is such a great program that we have going here, that it should be shared with your friends and family. We take donations from everyone!

Fraternally, Paul Cary, Senior Warden

Dear Brethren,

The instructions I sent to you regarding the implementation of Resolution 12-18 have raised a number of questions. I am reviewing these and will address them in the next several weeks. However, there is one clarification I would like to make now as
it might effect your current trestleboard publication.

A lodge may publish a trestleboard by mail or email that includes a Mason's personally identified information without obtaining his written permission so long as the trestleboard is sent only to Masons and members of the Masonic family. If the trestleboard will be published on a website, the access to which

is not limited to Masons and members of the Masonic family, or if the trestleboard will be sent to someone who is not a Mason or member of the Masonic family, then the trestleboard may not include a Mason's personally identified information without first obtaining his written permission.

I hope this clarification is helpful to you as you plan your February communications.

Sincerely and fraternally,

John L. Cooper, III, Grand Master

From the South

Brethren, Ladies, Family and Friends; The Stated
Meeting dinner for February was delicious. I would like to thank our Job’s Daughters Bethel 292 for a wonderful dinner. If you haven't had the opportunity to come to a Dinner at the lodge, I would highly recommend it. Not only is it great food, but good fellowship. Plus having high turn outs at the
dinners only continues to guarantee the wonderful meals we have all grown to love and know.

The Sweetheart Dinner was a wonderful event. Thank you all for your continued support. A special thank you to our Belles for coming out and enjoying the night. A special thanks to Wor. D.V. for the entertainment, S.B. for the decorations, Job’s Daughters Bethel 292 for serving and the kitchen crew who cooked such a wonderful dinner. Your support of these events is invaluable. Thank you to everyone that help organize this terrific event.

The Stated Meeting dinner will be on Wednesday, March 12th at 6:30 p.m. The Ben Ali Patrol will be preparing the dinner.

Please see “What’s for Dinner?” below for details. Also, Please remember to call, email me or use our friendly Lodge website to make your reservations in advance for this wonderful dinner. Reservations are a must! You can now pay for your dinner in advance via our PayPal system.

Fraternally, Chuck Oldes, Junior Warden

Ladies Program

There will be no ladies program for the month of March 2014

Hall Board

For the Month of February for the Hall Board it was
just about maintaing the "Status Quo" for the benefit of our renters. We look forward to our March meeting when we will be studying what can be done this year to improve and maintain the facility. You will be kept informed as we move along. The Building Maintenance Manager will be asking for some volunteers in March to work in the yard weeding,
trimming trees and generally improving the looks of the outside area.

On another subject, the Hall Board consists of nine
Directors elected from Harding San Juan Lodge
membership. We are short one Director at this time and due to a conflict with Board Meeting dates another Director will be leaving the Board. Being a Director requires someone that is truly interested in helping direct the future of our facility. We have in our hands a facility approaching two million dollars in value and without proper management would decrease in value and become an eyesore in the
community. I am asking any member of the Lodge that would be willing to step forward and commit themselves to attend the Board Meetings, take on special projects and serve as an officer in the future contact me and discuss the possibility of standing for election to the Board.

Fraternally, Don Bagley, P.M., President

Do you remember your first baseball glove?

Once again, Northern California lodges are teaming up with the Giants Community Fund to provide baseball mitts for more than 20,000 at-risk youth in the Junior Giants program. With 45% of Junior Giants participants not owning a baseball glove, California Masons can make a difference!
