From the East

Well, the holiday season is over and I hope it was wonderful and filled with joy for everyone. I know it was for my family and me. Now that we are entering into a new year it’s time to once again make our New Year’s Resolutions. With that said, I have made my list for the lodge and would like to share it with you.

I want to first focus on fellowship and family. I group these two together because I want to have more events and activities that are open to our friends and family. Let’s face it, our families want our time as well and having events that they can attend. This would really bring us all closer. On the other side, I look forward to meeting your friends, spouse, and kids.

The second thing I want to do is focus on our charitable giving. After all, I like to think that we all joined the lodge to make a difference. That’s why I want to use our Past Masters (and non officers) as much as possible in the upcoming year to help promote charity and good will. We have so much to learn from our Past Masters and brethren and we can always use the extra help and support.

The final resolution I want to mention is Masonic Education. Unity through Masonic Education which is the theme for 2015. We will strive to educate the community at large about freemasonry. With an “open house” or Masonic Information Night, we will have the opportunity to invite the public into the lodge and help them understand who we are and what we do!

As you can see we have a very busy, yet exciting, year planned for the lodge. I hope you will plan to attend as much as is “within the length of your cable tow”.

I want to take a moment to thank everyone who came out for our Annual Installation and a special thanks to all of you who helped put it together and made it a huge success.

Congratulations to Bro. John Evers on being selected to receive the Hiram Award, the highest award a Lodge can bestow upon one of its members – a truly distinguished honor. Arrangements for the presentation will be announced soon! When you see Bro. Evers give him a hearty handshake and congratulate him!

That’s it for now! So until next time I want to wish you all the best this coming year and if you need anything, want to get involved, or just want to enjoy some fellowship please feel free to contact me anytime. The best way to reach me is by phone or text.

Fraternally, Paul Cary, Master

From the West

Greetings from the West. Congratulations to Worshipful Paul Cary for being installed as Master for 2015. We look forward to a great year. As Senior Warden I welcome you to our new Masonic Year. I am excited about the continuance of our programs. Please remember to bring a can or two of food to help us support our community food locker.

I have some mighty big shoes to fill in being appointed Officers Coach for this Lodge. I thank our Inspector, Wor. Bill Miklos for the confidence in me to handle this task. It should be a seamless transition for us. It seems Wor. Gary Macauley is the only coach I have worked under for 7 years. I am familiar with his methods. I have seen him train so many men to be great Ritualists. We look forward to many years of continued help and guidance from Wor. Macauley.

Brethren, we NEED SPECIAL HELP. The Lodge has a wonderful organ. Just sitting there. IT NEEDS TO BE PLAYED. Are you a Brother that can play for us during our Degrees? Or, do you know a Brother that MIGHT play for us? Please let us know!

I look forward with Honor and Pleasure to serve our lodge this next year. See you in Lodge.

Fraternally, John Scofield, P.M., Sr. Warden

From the South

Brethren, Ladies, Family and Friends,

I would like to take this time to thank you all for your trust and support in electing me to serve as your Junior Warden during the 2015 Masonic year. I would also like to give a HUGE thank you to everyone that attended the December Stated Meeting dinner. It was a record number of reservations and attendance! I am looking forward to this year and the exciting changes we have begun to make.

One change that I am especially excited to share is that our Stated Meeting dinners will now be catered by Rich Gardner, a fellow brother and owner of Granite Rock Grill in Rocklin. Rich has prepared a fabulous menu for us for the upcoming year.

In making this change, reservations are now absolutely required; without a reservation, there is a good possibility we will not have a dinner for you. Reservations MUST be made no later than Monday, January 12th at 9 p.m. For your convenience you can call, email or register online to reserve your dinner. For those that would like a “standing” reservation or currently have one, please contact Jen Riffe at the number below so that those arrangements can be made as they can’t be done via email or online and are not carrying over from 2014.

In addition to these wonderful changes to the Stated Meeting dinners, the price will increase to $15 beginning this month. In addition to covering the catering expense, this increase will help us to continue to support the Job’s Daughters Bethel 292 who will be serving our guests each month and providing a delicious dessert.

Please see “What’s for Dinner?” for the menu and the contact information to get your reservations in. I look forward to seeing you at dinner and throughout this year.

Fraternally, Chad Riffe, Junior Warden

Brethren, if a brother is ill (or is deceased), PLEASE let us know right away! We often miss a chance to send a get-well card or be of some other assistance.
