Wow, what a whirl wind of activities your lodge has going on right now! We finished off December with our Annual Installation of Officers. Congratulations to all the 2018 Officers, and thank you to our brand new Past Master Brian Evers for a successful 2017.

But the end of one year signals the beginning of a new, and we are starting the New Year off fast on New Year’s Day with Black Eyed Peas and Corn Bread for lunch, to help soak up your celebrations. All you can eat for just $5.00, served from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Lodge.

We quickly move to our Annual Crab Feed on Saturday January 13th. The Silent Auction this year, benefits the California Masonic Homes. To donate to this great charitable cause, please contact brother Skip Hastings and his wife Judi at (916) 864-4302 or JStiles@stilesintravel.com with your donation items for the auction. In case you didn’t know, Harding San Juan Lodge has a couple of Brothers and Belles currently residing in Union City. And according to them, it is a wonderful place to live. Please join us for the Crab Feed and help us support the Homes.

And Finally, I am looking forward to our Annual Sweetheart Luncheon on Saturday February 10th. This year we will have a guest from the Masonic Outreach Services (MOS) to highlight some of their new and exciting resources available to all Masons and their families. With all of these great events going on this year, please make a point to join us for Friendship and Brotherly Love!

Fraternally, Jeffrey Robertson, Master

From The West

Greetings From the West. Thank you Brethren for your confidence in electing me as Senior Warden. Well, it looks like it is going to be another busy year. Our new Master has a lot of programs coming up. From our Annual Crab Feed in January to our Sweetheart Luncheon in February. I hope to see each and every one of you at these events. We will have our first Rusty Trowel event on a Monday in February. Date to be determined. Stand by for that information. Also at our February Stated Meeting Wor. Michael Robertson will be awarded the Hiram Award. The highest distinction that can be awarded to a Mason. We are hoping our Past Masters will do a 3rd Degree sometime this year. You won't want to miss this event. Our Lodge picnic will be in July and I hear our Fall Festival is back on the calendar for this year also. Your 2018 officers have been practicing and are ready for Degrees.

On another note. Your Lodge officers are striving to be the best we can be. When we interview a potential member we are considering quality and not quantity. We need men that are looking for a Fraternity that they "can get involved in". So remember when you talk Masonry to a man talk about the commitment, the help we need to further our Fraternity and helping out at the Lodge. The rewards are so fulfilling when one applies himself to the task.

I look forward to a successful and prosperous year.

Fraternally, John Scofield, P.M., Senior Warden

Due to the continuing rise in the cost of food our caterer had to increase her price. Dinner will now be $16.50. But Please folks don't let this keep you from coming to our dinners. These dinners are essential for our Lodge and your participation is greatly needed. The quality of our dinners has greatly increased and those attending have made many good comments. So come on down and see for yourself what everyone is talking about. Won't you please join us for our Stated Meeting Dinner. Thank You for your continued support!

Please see “What’s for Dinner?” below.

Hall Board

Picture
Happy New Year from your Hall Board. We now have all new chairs in the dining room. You can purchase the old blue chairs for $ 5.00 each until after the crab feed (January 13th). If you hurry you might be lucky enough to grab some blue chairs without the “scutter” marks.

Thanks to Worshipful Jim Poindexter for fixing our sign out front. Someone borrowed a card table from the lodge; please bring it back, we will need it for the crab feed; did I mention it was on January 13th?

Your hall board hopes you have a happy and prosperous 2018.

Fraternally, Tom Tompkins, P.M., President
