June 2015 Trestleboard

6/1/2015

From The East

Summer is here! This month brings us a few events to
enjoy. A few of those events are the annual Roll Call
Ceremony where we will pay a final tribute to those brothers who have passed into the celestial lodge above.

Our annual Masonic Family Potluck Picnic will be
held on June 20th at the Lodge and will be fun for all ages. We also honor our fathers and grandfathers on Fathers Day.

Summer also brings outdoor activities; family
vacations and time to just enjoy the nice warm days. It also means we are approaching our “Dark” months for July and August. Although we will not confer degrees or have stated meeting dinners during months we are “Dark,” we still hold Stated Meetings.

Congratulations to our officers who made the jump to
their new stations half way through the year and for being installed at our May stated meeting.

Grand Master Russ Charvonia has proclaimed June
2015 to be Masonic Homes Month. During this month our brothers and their widows should be made aware of the resources available to them, including the toll-free support number 888-466-3642. You can find out more information on this at the Grand Lodge website and you can read the Grand Masters letter here at http://goo.gl/Whmn6L.

That’s it for now! So until next time I want to wish you all the best and a Happy Father’s Day and if you need anything, want to get involved, or just want to enjoy some fellowship please feel free to contact me anytime.

Fraternally, Paul Cary, Master

From The West

I will start off by thanking my Brothers for electing me as the Senior Warden for the remainder of the year. I also congratulate Brother Brian Evers for being elected the Junior Warden and congratulations to our new Senior Deacon, Brother Jeffrey Robertson and our new Junior Steward, Julius Cadorna.

Please remember to get your RSVP’s and potluck
choices in to my lovely wife Jennifer as the Lodge Family Picnic is fast approaching! Mark your calendars for June 20th at the Lodge…It will be entertaining for all ages so bring the grandkids, grandparents and everyone in between! There will be a live DJ and lots of fun to be had by all!

A big thank you for all who have supported our
community food drive. Let’s keep the food donations coming.

Fraternally, Chad Riffe, Senior Warden

Congratulations to all the Brethren that were raised in the month of June!

From The South

Brethren, Ladies, Family and Friends: Thank you all for another great turnout at dinner last month. Rich Gardener of Granite Rock Grill served a great BBQ Chicken dinner and continues to do an amazing job on the catering! Thank you to the Job’s Daughters and Carol Burns for serving our meal, providing the scrumptious dessert and for cleaning
up after our meal.

I also thank Jennifer Riffe who has so kindly offered to continue helping with the dinner reservations and working each month with the caterer. Please continue to call or email her at the number provided to make your dinner reservations.
And, you can still make reservations and pay online and that information is below as well. So…get your reservations in for the June stated meeting dinner today…see “What’s for Dinner?” Below.

I look forward to seeing you at dinner and in Lodge this month!

Fraternally, Brian Evers, Junior Warden

Hall Board

Your Hall Board and particularly Worshipful Jim
Poindexter have been very busy. As you probably know, the Lodge had a visit from the fire marshal. There were a few items that needed to be added, corrected and/or altered to insure that our building would pass the fire marshal's inspection and to become compliant with current fire codes. You will notice that Worshipful Poindexter has added quick
release door locks to a few of the doors, there are numerous new signs about our lodge building and an outside lockbox for the fire department. The only item left to complete is the fire suppression system over the stove. The contractor informed us that the fire suppression system would take a month to install. Brother Bob Jackson is juggling the Lodge calendar to accommodate the contractor and the installation will probably be completed sometime this summer.

Also, our ice machine decided it was time to expire. Our new ice machine is now up and running.

Fraternally, Tom Tompkins, P.M., President

BUY A MITT AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Once again, Northern California lodges are teaming up with the Giants Community Fund to provide baseball mitts for more than 20,000 at-risk youth in the Junior Giants program.

Teams of lodges in six areas are competing to give the most mitts. Support your team at: Masons4Mitts.org
