From the East

Congratulations to Wor. Tom Tompkins on receiving the Hiram Award. It was a well attended event. Job’s Daughters Bethel 292 did a great job preparing and serving the April Stated Meeting / Hiram Award Dinner.

Congratulations Bro. Michael Nichols and Bro. Anthony Hodges on receiving their 2nd Degree.

Watch this Trestleboard for events and news about
you and your Lodge!

From the West

Greetings Brethren, Ladies, Family & Friends!

May is upon us and soon it will be summer and time for advance stations. For those of you that hear this all the time and wonder what is advance stations? Well it is the time when your team of lodge officers moves forward one step in the chairs at the lodge. Example: I have the pleasure of practicing as Master of the Lodge, in preparation for next years role.
This station has been occupied by many a great men that have come before me and thus I am truly excited to have an opportunity to practice in this station.

We have two degrees scheduled in May. Bro. Jeff
Anders will be raised to the Sublime degree of Master Mason and Bro. Scott Robinson will be passed to the degree of Fellow Craft. We also have several degree proficiencies. We encourage and look forward to seeing you attend these degrees and showing your continued support.

What is Masonic commitment? To everyone this may
mean something different. To me, our operative brothers this meant constructing cathedrals of older times and King Solomon’s Temple, and much more. As speculative Masons, our work doesn’t involve construction of physical items like those mentioned. It has to do we the self improvement of yourself and the charity to others. The work is equally important, yet the Mason’s of today are just as committed to their speculative work as their ancestors were in days past to the operative work. If we continue to be committed and dedicated, we will have the opportunity to erect our own moral and Masonic edifices. Like the operative Mason’s and their monuments that still stand today, we have the ability to leave a moral legacy that will extend beyond time itself.

The Month of May is Masonic Youth Orders Month! Our youth play a very important role in our future and we should connect, communicate, and commit to them every chance we get. They appreciate our support. One of the many ways you can show that support is by attending one of the many meetings our Job's Daughters Bethel 292 has throughout each month.

Fraternally, Paul Cary, Senior Warden

From the South

Brethren, Ladies, Family & Friends:

Thank you to everyone who came out for April's Stated Meeting / Hiram Award dinner. The dinner was delicious, I would like to thank the Job's Daughters Bethel 292 for a great dinner.

We had a wonderful program, thank you all for
attending Wor. Tom Tompkins’ Hiram Award
Presentation. Congratulations Brother Tompkins.

We have a wonderful dinner planned for this month. The May Stated Meeting dinner will be on Wednesday, May 14th at 6:30 p.m. Camellia Rainbow Assembly 108 will be hosting the dinner. Please see “What’s for Dinner?” below for details. Please remember to call, email me or use our
friendly Lodge website to make your reservations in advance for this wonderful dinner. You can now pay for your dinner in advance via our PayPal system.

The month of May has had many Masonic History events, here are a few. President William McKinley received his 1st degree in 1865. President Andrew Johnson received his 1st degree in 1851. Rudyard Kipling received his 2nd degree in 1886. In 1843 a national Masonic Congress was begun in Baltimore in a attempt to establish a uniform ritual for the United States Grand Lodges. The George Washington Masonic National Memorial was dedicated in 1932. President Harry S Truman received his 50 year Masonic award in 1959. Sir Winston Churchill received his 1st degree in 1901. The Grand lodge of West Virginia was established in 1865.

Fraternally, Chuck Oldes, Junior Warden

Ladies Program

There will be no ladies program for the month of May 2014.

Hall Board

First I want to thank Brothers Creg MacFarland and Tom Farnsworth for coming on the Board of Directors to add their expertise to the management of the Hall Board. Our next scheduled meeting is Thursday May 8th at which time we will act on the replacement of the back doors and the parking lot lighting. We will also come up with some idea to add some shade to the patio area. We still need to schedule a yard clean up day as the weeds are taking over. Our yard service provides some control of weeds at the present cost but in order to keep the yard maintenance cost down we must supplement the effort with volunteers. That’s all for now.

Fraternally, Don Bagley, P.M., President
