From The EastGreetings from your Master. Thank you all for a very successful Crab Feed and Sweethearts Luncheon. It is you, our membership, that makes our Lodge the success that it is. Thank you for your continued support. When brothers take their third-degree obligation, they take an oath to provide relief for their brethren and their wives, widows and orphans. This can be a life changing, and, in some cases, life-saving act. Brothers and ladies, please take a look at the services available to every Master Mason and his family. The Masonic Outreach Service (MOS) was created in 2011 to aid fellow Masons and their families in time of need. This is what Masons do, Please contact by email at [email protected] or by calling (888) 466-3642. The services available are for us to use when we need them, but you must call or contact them in order to see what there is available for you and your family. Our March stated meeting will also include our Roll Call Ceremony. This is where we honor those brothers who have gone to the celestial lodge above within the past 12 months. Please join us. The roll call will be after our stated meeting dinner and before our March stated meeting. That is March 11th. Please mark your calendars. Our lodge has over 250 members; of that number we have about 20% who actively participate in our lodge functions. Please start attending our lodge functions. If there is a function that you would like our lodge to do, please let one of your officers know. We are very lucky to have a very viable lodge but there is always room for improvement. Please come and join us. Fraternally, Tom Tompkins, P.M., Master From The WestGreetings, Brethren! I would like to congratulate Worshipful Tompkins for a successful Crab Feed. I would like to thank all the people that helped to make this event very successful. There are too many of you to mention. Thank you everyone that helped set up and clean up after the event, people that helped serve the wonderful food, people that cooked the shrimp, pasta and steak, to the Shrine Patrol that helped in serving the beverages. I would also like to thank and congratulate Judi Hastings, Elaine Rose and Lynn Tompkins for doing a wonderful job at the silent auction. I would also like to give thanks to Richard MacFarlane for being our MC. I would also like to congratulate Worshipful John Scofield for having a good team selling the tickets. I want to apologize to anyone that I have forgotten to mention. Again thank you everyone for making this a successful event! We are continuing to support the Sunrise Food Locker; a big “Thank you” to everyone who has given so generously to this wonderful charity. Please keep your donations coming. Food donations can be deposited on the shelves in the dining area or you can donate cash or a check which ever you prefer. The Food Bank is a 501C (3) charitable institution; please contact me for any information you may need for tax purposes. Fraternally, Julius Cadorna, Senior Warden From The South |

Hall Board
A big thank you to Worshipful John Scofield and crew for replacing the carpet in the Ladies Room. It looks great. The Ladies Room had a hot water leak which was also fixed and the pressure valve was vented outside so this kind of leak would not happen again. Our facility is getting on in age (I know the feeling) and little things are going to break and need repair. Worshipful Scofield has done a great job filling in for Worshipful Poindexter who has been in therapy for his hip replacement. Thank you, Worshipful John.
Your Hall Board is still looking at upgrading the sign in the front yard, fixing the front fence (someone drove into it) replacing the alarm system and installing some speakers in the dining room that are connected to the speaker system in the lodge room. There is an old organ in the lodge room that has no one who can play the organ even if it were to be repaired. We need to either donate the organ or take it to the dump. Suggestions from our membership are welcome.
This is your lodge; please let us know if there is something that should be upgraded or repaired.
Fraternally,
Tom Tompkins, P.M.
HSJ Hall Board President
Member Restoration
Up-Date on this program, we have had 4 of our Masons take advantage of this worth while opportunity so far, welcome back my brothers, I will keep you informed as time goes by.
The Member Restoration effort aims to restore many of the 40,000 men on our rosters who have been suspended for non-payment of dues. Many members who have been suspended because of this reason are often not aware that they've been suspended, have been unable to pay because of hardship, or have not been in contact with their lodges in a long while. Overwhelmingly, the vast majority of these suspended Masons wanted to find a way to again be in good standing with our fraternity. Our Lodge is a participate in this special effort to reinstate many of these members for a single payment of $100. This restoration effort speaks to the need to bring our brothers back into active membership of our craft. Other Masonic organizations have held similar restoration efforts and have found between 10-30% of members have restored their membership as a result.
Funerals
Even if you did not know the departed Brother, a respectable attendance of Masonic Brothers really means a lot to the deceased member’s family. This is also an opportunity to wear your Masonic Apron in public and to show that Masons care. Please help us pay proper respect. – Editor
